In 1967, the Delta Zeta Chapter of Kappa Delta was founded on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Over the past 48 years, we have grown, in strength and numbers, from a handful of ambitious young women to over 100 confident and well rounded women. Our members are from diverse backgrounds, who are athletes, scholars, musicians, artists, philanthropists and more - all united by our sisterhood and the high ideals of Kappa Delta.
Our chapter strives to maintain excellence on our campus. On top of having the Highest GPA of Greek Life, Kappa Delta represents a wide variety of student organizations including PREP Staff, Campus Tour Guides, Campus Activities Board members, Homecoming Court and Queen, ULM Cheer, ULM Hawkline, and the Student Government Association to name just a few. We were also selected as the 2016-2017 NPC Organization of the Year! Nationally, our Delta Zeta was selected as a Merit Chapter in 2017. This is a highly distinguished honor given to the top 10% of all Kappa Delta Chapters, and we could not be more honored to hold this title right here in Monroe.
Our sisters also love to lend a helping hand to our community! This past year alone we raised over $36,000 for Prevent Child Abuse America and the Northeast Louisiana Baptist Children's Home through our community Shamrock 5k Color Run! We also continued our work with the Girl Scouts of the USA by hosting events with the girls and attending their meetings! Kappa Delta continues to help out within the Monroe community by participating in Stuff a Bus, working with the Wellspring Woman’s Shelter, and volunteering at the Krewe of Paws Mardi Gras pet parade.
